Industrial Photography Project
NEA Waste Management
In this industrial photography project we worked with NEA to capture the story of the waste management process of Singapore.
Architecture shot of Tuas South Incineration plant which breakdown all house combustible waste to ashes.
An interior view of the refuse bunker and the household waste. There are 2 cranes working simultaneously. The redundancy helps to maintain efficiency in case of maintenance.
Crane operator fed the incinerator with the refuse in the bunker through the remote control in the room.
Engineers monitor the incinerator plant during the combustion process.
Visual inspection of the incineration to ensure everything is smooth running.
Tug boat enters Transfer building at TMTS so as to bring the ash barge to the Semakau. Dump truck on ramp at top left of image is transfering ash from TSIP to the barge.
An architecture view of the Tuas Marine Transfer Station.
Tug Boat operator carefully maneuvers the boat closer to the barge amid the slight current.
An aerial shoot of the tugboat and barge entering the transfer building in Semakau. The tug boat traveled at night in order to save time. The barge covered the ash and prevented them from getting blown away during the transfer process.
Aerial industrial photography project showing the development of landfill in Semakau. this aerial drone shot shows the transfer building with respect to the landfill cells.
Giant excavator unloads the ash from the barge onto the dump trucks .
This floating platform is 200m long. The dump truck are able to reach further out of the banks for the landfill.
Dump truck unloads ash and slug into the cell as landfill.
As the cell in phase 2 are displaced by ash, excess water needs to be discharged into the sea. The floating water treatment plant treat the excess water according to Trade Effluent Discharge Standards before being discharging them into the sea.
Treated water discharged into the sea from the the floating water treatment plant.
Phase 2 of landfill. This is the larges cell in Semakau landfill as compared to the phase one cells.
This aerial shoot compares the difference between the earlier smaller phase one cells and phase two cell in Semakau landfill.
